There is no better school than adversity. Every defeat, every heartbreak, every loss, contains its own seed, its own lesson on how to improve my performance next time.

Never again will I contribute to my downfall by refusing to face the truth and learn from my past mistakes. Because I know: gems cannot shine without polish, and I can not perfect myself without hardship.

Now I know that there are no times in life when opportunity, the chance to be and do gathers so richly about my soul when it has to suffer cruel adversity.

Then everything depends on whether I raise my head or lower it in seeking help. Whenever I am struck down, in the future, by any terrible defeat, I will inquire of myself, after the first pain has passed, how I can turn that adversity into good.

What a great opportunity that moment may present……to take the bitter root I am holding and transform it into fragrant garden of flowers.

Always will I seek the seed of triumph in every adversity.

A bird fall in about one metre away from the Wolf rock. By the villagers tied the Wolf looked up and looked at it, showed an instinctive guard. Birds may have already seen this Wolf was imprisoned, that he took it, in front of it is indiscriminate.

Wolf, it seems that anger does not bother, just withdraw it, let it sing alone. Birds found the Wolfs frustration, they fly down from thestone, near the Wolf cried. Birds may not know of such a move is dangerous, wolves if they suddenly stretched paw could grasp it, butWolf did not do.

Ive been waiting for a long time, they still live. Suddenly, I felt my fear is unnecessary, how do I know the bird calls in the expression of what is it? Im just human psychology, in fear for them, perhaps, the birds are telling a happy thing for wolves!

From the look of it, birds and wolves so close contact, how incredible it is. If you see this scene is a timid man, he would fear for the bird to; if you see this is a broad minded person, he may find that thebeauty of life against each other, you will see life in the pursuit of beauty of the brave heart will show.

The highest form of life, "take it, well-which is" as if a wolf is tied infront, just as it sing; if a bird flew up to himself and sang happily, patiently to be an audience, so it is friendly and beautiful life.

Throughout the day, so a Wolf and a bird. They make up a mirror, and all the people who saw them were reflected in it.

My grandmother was an iron-willed woman, the feared matriarch of our New York family back in the 1950s.

When I was five years old, she invited some friends and relatives to her Bronx apartment for a party. Among the guests was a neighborhood big shot who was doing well in business. His wife was proud of their social status and let everyone at the party know it. They had a little girl about my age who was spoiled and very much used to getting her own way.

Grandmother spent a lot of time with the big shot and his family. She considered them the most important members of her social circle and worked hard at currying their favor.

Success is not final and failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.

Never cease to outdo yourself. There are no limits to the success you can acquire when you have an uncontrollable drive to achieve. Any obstacles you encounter along the way are life’s test to establish strength and perseverance. If you continually possess determination and self-confidence throughout any situation, you will prevail.

To us it seems so natural to put up an umbrella to keep the water off When it rains. But actually the umbrella wasnt invented as protection against rain. Its first use was a shade against the sun!

Nobody knows who first invented it, hut the umbrella was used in very ancient times. Probably the first to use it were the Chinese, way back in the eleventh century BC.

We know the umbrella was used in ancient Egypt and Babylon as a sunshade. And there was a strange thing connected with its use: it became a symbol of honor and authority. In the Far East in ancient times, the umbrella was allowed to be used only by royalty or by those in high office.

In Europe, the Greeks were the first to use the umbrella as a sunshade. And the umbrella was in common use in ancient Greece. But it is believed that the first persons in Europe to use the umbrella as protection against Romans.

During the middle ages, the use of umbrella practically disappeared Then it appeared again in Italy in the late sixteenth century. And again it was considered a symbol of power and authority. Byl680, the umbrella appeared in France, and later in England.

By the eighteen century, the umbrella was used against rain throughout most of Europe. Umbrellas have not changed much in style during all this time, though they have become much lighter in weight. It wasnt until the twentieth century that womens umbrellas began to he made, in a whole.

The ellipsis left by god, let life pursue the miracle of the next moment without hesitation. God makes a joke, and we all think of it as divine will, we forget ourselves, and faith is still there.

What victory can be compared with this victory? Which one of the wars in bonaparna, when the sunshine of the day of Austin, was the glory of this superhuman effort? The triumph that this heart has never gained? An unhappy man, poor, disabled, lonely, a man of pain, the world does not give him joy, but he creates joy for the world! He cast his misery into joy -- the joy of all the proverbs of the soul.

The pursuit of life is for better survival, the end of survival is for no regrets.

There is a moment when life is closed, so long as we still love life before we stop breathing, we still yearn for the future, we still look forward to it, and the peak of life is no longer distant.

The pursuit of true meaning is not what is held in the hand, but whether the heart is sunk by faith.

Keeping a Dream is an attitude toward life. With dreams, we can overcome different kinds of difficulties in life.

I usually get discouraged easily when I fail in an exam. My head teacher told me "nothing is difficult if you dont lose heart.". I followed his advice and began to work harder. It was his encouragement that pulled me through. As long as I keep trying, obstacles can become bridges to success.

Besides, its important for us to protect our dream. Dreams always lead to happiness, and success. Only when we are in pursuit of a dream can we live in a constructive way, can we satisfy our parents and shoulder the future responsibility.

We Must Face FailureAs we all know, "Failure is the mother of success." But few people can really understand what the saying means. In the world, I am sure that no one dare say he hasnt met any trouble all his life.

So we must face failure. In fact, failure is not fearful, but important thing is how to face it correctly. Facing failure, people will never take their fate lying down. They will try their best to work harder and harder until at last they succeed. Not being courageous to face setbacks, people have no chance to enjoy the pleasure of success. So they have nothing to do but feel sad and empty all day and all night. In fact, they lose the chance of success themselves. My friend, whenever in trouble, please remember, "Failure is the mother of success.

Enjoy that uniquenesss1. You do not have to pretend in order to seem more like someone else. You do not have to lie to hide the parts of you that are not like what you see in anyone else.

You were meant to be different. Nowhere, in all of history, will the same things be going on in anyone’s mind, soul and spirit as are going on in yours right now.

If you did not exist, there would be a hole in creation, a gap2 in history, and something missing from the plan for humankind. Treasure your uniqueness. It is a gift given only to you. Enjoy it and share it!

No one can reach out to others in the same way that you can. No one can speak your words. No one can convey your meanings. No one can comfort others with your kind of comfort. No one can bring your kind of understanding to another person. No one can be cheerful and light-hearted3 and joyous4 in your way. No one can smile your smile. No one else can bring the whole unique impact of you to another human being.

Share your uniqueness. Let it flow out freely among your family and friends, and the people you meet in the rush and clutter of living, wherever you are. That gift of yourself was given to you to enjoy and share. Give yourself away!

  See it! Receive it!

Let it inform you, move you and inspire you!

  You are unique!

When someone looks into your eyes they should see something alive within you. Having a dream is like owning a lighthouse1 which directs you on your journey.

At every turn we come across its mystery. At each new level we become more of the person we were meant to become. In lonely times, when we pass through a storm of disappointment, we find our faith is unshaken, our strength still strong.

Believe in your faith. Set the vision before your eyes. Write down your most sincere dreams and when the opportunity comes, step into your dream. It may take one season or more, but the result is the same. Make big dreams and then go out and make them realities. The highest hopes of the dreamer are revealed with every step taken in their journey to the impossible. For a season we must protect the dream so that it can grow quietly on the inside. But if we tenderly care for our deepest expectations, slowly but surely the dream will become new life.

Dreaming is an act of faith. The light of your expectations will cast off the shadows of a disbelieving world. God has given us the dreamer as a gift to light an unbelieving world.

Find your treasure within and cherish2 it. Tomorrow is waiting for you to take the first step.

If you could choose what kind of world to live in, what kind of world would you choose? If you could decide what would happen tomorrow, with what kinds of things would you fill it?

If you had the power to decide what types of opportunities would come your way, what opportunities would you select? If you knew that your experiences would match your expectations, what would your expectations be?

In fact, you do have the power to choose your own way. You do have the ability to decide what kinds of events, experiences, opportunities and circumstances come your way.

The world you experience is the world that your dreams, your thoughts, your expectations and your actions most closely resonate*. The world you see and live in is the world you most sincerely expect to see.

The universe is filled with endless possibilities, and those possibilities keep growing with every minute. The way you live determines which of those possibilities will come into your life.

With your thoughts, your actions, your values, your dreams and expectations, you choose what kind of world you live in. The way you live is closely mirrored in the world you see.

Occasionally, life can be undeniably, impossibly difficult. We are faced with challenges and events that can seem overwhelming, life-destroying to the point where it may be hard to decide whether to keep going. But you always have a choice. Jessica Heslop shares her powerful, inspiring journey from the worst times in her life to the new life she has created for herself:

In 2012 I had the worst year of my life.

I worked in a finance job that I hated and I lived in a concrete jungle city with little greenery. I occupied my time with meaningless relationships and spent copious quantities of money on superficialities. I was searching for happiness and had no idea where to find it.

Then I fell ill with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) and became virtually bed bound. I had to quit my job and subsequently was left with no income. I lived with my boyfriend of then only 3 months who financially supported me and our relationship was put under great pressure. I eventually regained my physical health, but not long after that I got a call from my family at home to say that my father’s cancer had fiercely progressed and that he had been admitted to a hospice.

I left the city and I went home to be with him.

  He died 6 months later.

My father was a complete inspiration to me. He was always so strong that, for a minute after he drew his last breath, I honestly thought he would come back to life. I couldn’t believe I would never again cuddle into his big warm chest and feel safe no matter what.

The grief that followed was intense for all of us 5 children and our mother, but we had each other.

But my oldest sister at that time complained of a bad back. It got so bad after 2 months that she too was admitted to hospital.

They discovered that she had highly advanced cancer in her bones and that there was nothing that they could do.

  She died 1 month later.

I could never put into words the loss of my sister in my life.

She was a walking, talking angel and my favourite person in the whole world. If someone could have asked me the worst thing that could ever happen, it would have been losing her.

She was my soul-mate and I never thought I would journey this lifetime without her.

  The Moment Of Deliberate Choice

The shock and extreme heart break brought me to my knees. The pain was so great and my world just looked desolate. I had no real home, no money, no job, and no friends that cared. Not one person had even sent me a sympathy card for my loss.

I made an attempt of my own life and I ended up in hospital.

I remember lying in the hospital bed, looking up at the ceiling and seeing my sister’s beautiful face. She stayed with me all night long.

I realised during that night that I had a choice. I could choose to end my life or I could choose to live it.

I looked in my sister’s eyes and I made a decision not to go with her just yet. That I would stay and complete my journey here.

I also made the decision that, I wouldn’t just live any life. I would live the life that I absolutely LOVE and nothing less.

In that moment, the clarity that descended around me was like a light shining in a dark room for the first time. As if the earth’s plates had shifted under my feet and everything suddenly looked real for the first time.

The Blossoms Of My Newly Chosen Life

Since then I have begun to shape the most beautiful life for myself.

I now live in an adorable stone cottage in a stunningly green, luscious region of the UK amongst woodlands and lakes.

I have a deeply harmonious, joyful relationship with my amazing boyfriend, who’s gone through all this with me and we are very happy together.

I write a blog that inspires others to live the life that they love. It is what I know I was born to do and it truly makes my heart sing.

I am making new friends with beautiful souls all around the world.

I practise gratitude for my life every single day and I feel the abundance in everything I have now.

I spend quality time with the rest of my precious family and cherish every moment I have with them.

I have written a bucket list and am already manifesting so much of which I have always dreamed.

I connect with my heart often to ensure that I am always following my joy.

I love myself more deeply every day.

  I live authentically now.

  Waking Up

It took something powerfully transformative in my life to make me wake up. Wake up to some fundamental truths of life. This life is a gift if you want to accept it. No matter what the obstacle, you can make your life abundant with joy and you can live authentically.

Not a day goes by when I don’t miss my father’s huge character or my beloved sister’s gentle brown eyes, but I know that I will be with them one day for an eternity. What I have now is so precious and so fleeting that I must grasp the joy in every moment I can, and treat it as the gift that it is.

You choose life every day. But do you choose the life that you love every day?

We must begin with your personal definition of TRUE LOVE. Without that, your search is pointless as the roundabout with no feasible exit for your journey. Don’t race to the dictionary, as the definition lies within your own life philosophy and experience.

Our adult happiness lies rooted in the soil of our childhood. Instinctively, we bonded to our mothers for survival and eventually understood the protective potential of our fathers. All can agree that our basis of love stems from these early interactions. Rather than bandy about the countless theories concerning “mommy” and “daddy” issues, let’s begin with the idea that you have come to terms with your past and are eager to move forward into your own loving relationship.

The best predictor of one’s future behavior is to look at past behavior. By looking at your actions, can you say that you’ve fallen in love with the most important person…yourself? Without arrogance and hubris, do you LOVE the person you have become?

The value of time

"Time," says the proverb, "is money". This means that every moment well-spent may put some money into our pockets.

If our time is usefully employed, it will either turn out some useful and important piece of work which will fetch its price in the market, or it will add to our experience and increase our capacities so as to enable us to earn money when the proper opportunity comes. Let those, who think nothing of wasting time, remember this.

Our life is nothing more than our time. To kill time is therefore a form of sui cide. We are shocked when we think of death, and we spare no pains, no trouble, and no expense to preserve life.

But we are too often indifferent to the loss of an hour or of a day, forgetting that our life is the sum total of the days and of the hours we live. A day or an hour wasted is therefore so much life forfeited. Our life is a brief span measuring some seventy or eighty years in all.

But nearly one third of this has to be spent in sleep; some years have to be spent over our meals; some in making journeys on land and voyages by sea; some in merry-making; some in watching over the sick-beds of our nearest and dearest relatives.

Now if all these years were to be deducted from the term over which our life extends, we shall find about twenty or thirty years at our disposal for active work. Whoever remembers this can never willingly wastea single moment of his life.

All time is precious; but the time of our childhood and of our youth is more precious than any other portion of our existence. For those are the periods when alone we can acquire knowledge and develop our capacities.

If we allow these morning hours of life to slip away, we shall never be able to recoup the loss. Just as money laid out at interest doubles and trebles itself in time, so the precious hours of childhood and youth, if properly used, will yield us incalculable advantages.

People often wonder why historians go to so much trouble to preserve millions of books, documents and records.

Why do we have libraries? What good are these documents and history books? Why do we record and save the actions of men, the negotiations1 of government officials and the events during wars?

We do it because, sometimes, the voice of experience can cause us to stop, look and listen. Sometimes, past records, when understood in the right way, can help us decide what to do and what not to do. If we are ever to create lasting peace, we must seek its origins in human experience and in the records of human history.

From the stories of courage and devotion of men and women, we create the inspirations of youth. History records the suffering, the self-denial2, the devotion, and the heroic deeds of people in the past. These records can help us when we are confused and when we really need peace.

The main purpose of history is to create a better world. History gives a warning to those who promote war, and inspiration to those who seek peace.

In short, history helps us learn. Yesterday’s records can keep us from repeating yesterday’s mistakes. And from the pieces of mosaic4 assembled5 by historians come the great murals6 which represent the progress of mankind.

Once upon a time there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all the others, including Love. One day it was announced to all of the feelings that the island was going to sink to the bottom of the ocean. So all the feeling sprepared their boats to leave .

Love was the only one that stayed. She wanted to preserve the island paradise until the last possible moment. When the island was almost totally under, love decided it was time to leave. She began looking for someone to ask for help.

Just then Richness was passing by in a grand boat. Love asked, "Richness, can I come with you on your boat?" Richness answered, "Im sorry, but there is a lot of silver and gold on my boat and there would be no room for you anywhere."

Then Love decided to ask Vanity for help who was passing by in a beautiful vessel. Love cried out, "Vanity, help me please!" "I cant help you," Vanity said, "You are all wet and will damage my beautiful boat."

Next, Love saw Sadness passingby. Love said, "Sadness, please let me go with you." Sadness answered, "Love, Im sorry, but, I just need to be alone now."

Then, Love saw Happiness. Love cried out, "Happiness, please take me with you." But Happiness was so overjoyed that he didnt hear Love calling to him.

Love began to cry. Then, she heard a voice say, "Come Love, I will take you with me." It was an elder. Love felt so blessed and overjoyed that she forgot to ask the elder his name. When they arrived on land the elder went on his way. Love realized how much she owed the elder.

Love then found Knowledge and asked, "Who was it that helped me?" "It was Time, Knowledge answered. "But why did Time help me when no one else would? "Love asked. Knowledge smiled and with deep wisdom and sincerity, answered, "Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Loveis.

The only problem unconsciously assumed by all Chinese Philosophers to be of any importance is: How shall we enjoy life, and who can best enjoy life? No perfectionism, no straining after the unattainable, no postulating of the unknowable, but taking poor, mortal human nature as it is, how shall we organize our life so that we can work peacefully, endure nobly2 and live happily?

Who are we? That is the first question. It is a question almost impossible to answer. But we all agree that the busy self occupied in our daily activities is not quite the real self. We are quite sure we have lost something in the mere pursuit3 of living. When we watch a person running about looking for something in a field, the wise man can set a puzzle for all the spectators to solve: what has that person lost? Some one thinks it is a watch; another thinks it is a diamond brooch; and others will essay other guesses. After all the guesses have failed, the wise man who really doesn’t know what the person is seeking after, tells the company, “I’ll tell you. He has lost some breath.” And no one can deny that he is right. So we often forget out true self in the pursuit of living, like a bird forgetting its own danger in pursuit of a mantis, which again forgets its own danger in pursuit of another prey, as is so beautifully expressed in a parable by Chuangtse.

Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life.

Youth means a temperamental predominance of courage over timidity of the appetite, for adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than a body of twenty.Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals.

Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, fear, self-distrust bows the heart and turns the spirit back to dust.

Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human beings heart the lure of wonder, the unfailing child-like appetite of whats next, and the joy of the game of living.

Inthe center of your heart and my heart there is a wireless station; so long as it receives messages of beauty, hope, cheer, courage and power from men and from the Infinite, so long are you young.

When the aerials are down, and your spirit is covered with snows of cynicism and the ice of pessimism, then you are grown old, even at twenty, but as long as your aerials are up, to catch the waves of optimism, there is hope you may die young at eighty.
