The weather of these days is really bad. It’s foggy and there is haze in the air.So, we can’t see the things very far.Every morning, when I pull back the curtain, I only can see the building dozens miles away.When I go to school, I must be very careful when I go across the street.Besides, the air is dirty because of the haze. I even feel hard to breathe.My mother tells me to wear a respirator. I do as she tells.Because of the bad weather, car accidents happen more frequently. I hope drivers can drive more carefully and keep safe.

Huamei School is a international school. So today I want to talk about some differences between east and west. What are the major differences between Chinese and western ？I wonder how many things do we know about the difference between west and east? Although I can’t tell you exactly , I want to talk about it in the following three parts. They are food, dressing and living styles.
First, food. In China, we prefer noodles, rice , as the main course. We like cooking a lot of delicious dishes, We sit together, and taste the dishes together, , when we eating ,we like chatting and laughing, But in England or other west countries, people like eating hamburgers, chips, pizza, pasta as their main course, they eat them with vegetable salad.
Second, dressing. In China, we prefer colorful clothes, we dress them in different place, but we don’t make up; But in west countries, people dress according their visiting places, in daily times, they often wear casual clothes, but if they go to a formal places , they often wear suits, ladies wearing beautiful dresses, pretty hats. No matter how old the ladies are, they always make up.
Third, living styles. Chinese prefer getting up early and go to bed early too. Children often go to different spare schools to study. They seldom go to work during the weekend.
That’s the differences I know. I And I believe that “East or west , home is best”.

The Qingming Festival or Tomb Sweeping Day is a traditional Chinese festival on the 104th day after the winter solstice, usually occurring around April 5 of the Gregorian calendar. The Qingming festival falls on the first day of the fifth solar term, named Qingming. Its name denotes a time for people to go outside and enjoy the greenery of springtime. On Qingming people go on family outings, start the spring plowing, sing, and dance. Qingming is also the time when young couples start courting. Another popular thing to do is to fly kites in the shapes of animals or characters from Chinese opera.
清明節(jié)通常在每年公歷4月5日左右，是中國傳統(tǒng)節(jié)日冬至之后的104天。清明節(jié)是是第五個節(jié)氣的第一天，它的名字是指人們應該到戶外去享受盎然的春天的時節(jié)。到清明時節(jié)，人們會組織家庭出游，開始春耕，或唱歌或跳舞，而年輕男女也開始互訴鐘情，表達愛慕。清明另一個廣受歡迎的活動就是放風箏，風箏的形狀一般是動物或者京劇里的傳統(tǒng)角色。
Qingming Festival is when Chinese people visit the graves or burial grounds of their ancestors. Traditionally, people brought a whole rooster with them to the graves visited but the occasion has become less formal over time. The Qingming Festival is an opportunity for celebrants to remember and honor their ancestors at grave sites. Young and old pray before the ancestors, sweep the tombs and offer food, tea, wine, chopsticks, joss paper accessories, and/or libations to the ancestors. Another common practice is to carry flowers instead of burning paper, incense or firecrackers.
